The Garamvári Estate, a family business, was born in 1990 in Budafok where traditional sparkling wine has been made for the last 150 years. The birth of Garamvári sparkling wines was preceded by almost a decade of preparation and 25 years of international practice. The person who launched and directed the process is Vencel Garamvári. The sparkling winemaking technique used is based on the rules of Champagne. Sparkling wines are made from varietals including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, Furmint. The base wine is derived from the single vineyards moving east to west on the southern shore of Lake Balaton, around the villages of Balatonboglár and Balatonlelle where Garamvári Estate cultivates vineyards on 80 hectares and where the centre of the winemaking plant is located.
