Kincsem Kastély Winery: Tokaji Hárslevelű, late harvest 2013
Kincsem Kastély Winery‘s Hárslevelű has protected designation of origin of sweet white Tokaji wine.
Very concentrated typical Tokaj aromas and flavours. Lime tree honey, citruses, fine acacia flower, well-balanced sugar/acids. Fresh, vibrant acids and minerals that hide the residual sugar and Botrytis notes.
2013 was the most stunning vintage of the last decade. The weather had no extremes, autumn was long and beautiful. This Hárslevelű gave outstanding quality: 27 degree must and bunches with 35 % aszú berries. We harvested at the optimal biological ripeness in mid-November.
This late Hárslevelű was brought to life by nature: wonderfully aszú bunches which meant they were macerated for 3-4 hours in the press. After one day settling they were put immediately into 3-5-year-old Zemplén Szerednyei barrels (220-l) where they fermented with natural yeasts. After fermentation they were racked from the main lees and left on fine lees for six months. Betonite fining, filtration and bottling.
