Szászi Estate: Kéknyelű, 2015
Szászi Estate’s Kéknyelű is from vines an average of five-years-old on Szent-György Hill. Hand harvest in boxes, followed by destemming and gentle pressing. After 24-hours settling it was spontaneously fermented in stainless steel at 16 °C and then aged for 3 months in large barrels (500-1000 l).
Kéknyelű is an autochthonous variety found only in the Badacsony Wine Region whose wines beautifully show the mineral notes of the basalt typical in the wine region. This beautiful minerality appears most strongly in the nose, on tasting citrus, green apple and peach aromas complement the pleasantly salty flavours. An excellent accompaniment to fish, poultry and asparagus dishes. Best chilled to 11-12 °C.
