Villa Sandahl: Magic Rain, 2011

Villa Sandahl‘s Riesling is a vineyard selection wine from 2011, made from perfectly ripened Riesling grapes. Magic Rain is a well-natured wine with some petrol, citrus and mineral character in the nose. It’s still fresh in taste. 2011 was very dry from the spring, and continued so in the summer and autumn. The drought and dryness did prevent the grapes from maturing in a natural way. This is a single-vineyard from the Genezis vineyard. Perfectly ripe, 100 % healthy grapes were harvested. Gentle presssing of full bunch. Fermentation started at 6 °C and lasted about 3-4 months. It was fermented and aged in stainless steel.
